Cause and Effect by No Fixed Abode is apparently the last video over which Heath Ledger had complete creative control before he died. I've come to this video through hearing this news, but I'm writing about because I like the song, and the video, a great deal.
NFA talks about the making of the video in a short piece on his MySpace page, which I've embedded underneath the music video itself.
I really like this track and while it is good that he is getting some publicity I hope the Heath Ledger connection doesn't end up overshadowing the music.

I've just heard Pencil Full of Lead, by Paolo Nutini and I'm really surprised it is on the Radio 1 playlist. It seems as though it would fit firmly outside the 14-25 target age range that Radio 1 goes for.
In general I would say that Paolo Nutini is firmly in the Radio 2 list, and, on checking, it is in the 'A' Playlist at Radio 2.
This isn't a complaint; I think it is a great track. I'm just surprised. I'll be interested to see where it ends up in the singles charts on Sunday.

Although this group has been around since June, I heard them for the first time about an hour ago. More specifically, the length of their album ago. They have an amazing sound that I have been quite taken with.
The Dead Weather is made up of established names the most famous being Jack White, of The White Stripes. Their current single is Cuts like a buffalo, and the video is below.

One of the great things about music is sharing it with others. It is like a joke in the sense that even though you haven't made it, you can enjoy passing it on to someone and they enjoy your sharing it.
Nerina Pallot is pretty much my new favourite artist. I have listened to her music a great deal over the past few months, attended a gig of hers which was astounding (how someone can sing so well, live, is beyond me), and now that she has a new album and single out I want to share it with anyone who will listen.
So here's the video for the new single.
I also recommend I Don't Want to Go Out, another track of hew new album, The graduate.
